Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said he was eyeing more collaboration with Zhejiang, mainland China’s rising tech powerhouse, to launch more “novel and trendy” innovation and technology (I&T) projects as he wrapped up the second day of his visit to the provincial capital on Wednesday.

The government said Lee had noted that “Hong Kong, as an international city fully open to the world, will reinforce its connectivity with both the mainland and the world to serve mainland enterprises in expanding into global markets”.

“[Lee] also welcomed I&T enterprises in Hangzhou to set up in Hong Kong to pursue development together,” it said.

Lee said in a Facebook post that he looked forward to seeing more I&T cooperation between enterprises in Zhejiang and Hong Kong, and more projects being launched jointly.
